    FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award

In December 2012, NMHRP was awarded the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. Each of the FBI’s 56 field offices annually selects an individual or organization to receive this special award, presented on behalf of the Director of the FBI.  The award was formally created in 1990 as a way to honor individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs and violence in America.

    About

New Mexico Human Rights Projects (NMHRP) is the only non-profit organization in the state providing unique, hands-on programs that engage students intellectually and emotionally to think about the choices they make when confronted with prejudice, racism, violence and discrimination. NMHRP seeks to challenge our most basic understanding of human nature and encourage youth to be more respectful, compassionate and empathic human beings.
